Mint Hotel Bristol – 18 -20th March 2011

Hotel Address: Mint Hotel Bristol, Temple Way, Bristol, BS1 6BF

Grounds (6/10) – located quiet central to the new shopping district (10 minutes walk) and about 20 minutes walk from the port and river side area. The hotel was located on a main road entering in to the city meaning there was some noise from traffic.

Reception (7/10) – 24 hour reception services where very helpful and easily had our room changed for the second night due to a faulty toilet flusher.

Bedroom (6/10) – hotel contains 167 rooms, half of which are on the park side and the other half are on the road side. Within each room there is an iMac computer, complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi, Skype, Sky, luxurious linen, power showers and 24-hour room service. Given this was meant to be a good quality hotel, the room we first stayed in was quiet small and after 1 night the toilet handle fell apart so they changed our rooms for the second night.

Hotel facilities (6/10) – The hotel gym was in fact a small room with a few items of equipment. The restaurant was very good and reviewed separately. Breakfast was very nice, a sit down service for the main English breakfast, with buffet style additions such as pastries and cereals.

Value for money (5/10) – Room cost £114 per night with Breakfast included but an additional £8 per day parking fee, while the hotel was of a nice quality I don’t think it was worth the cost

Overall 30/50 = 60%
